Charities We Support
Every year we support a number of good causes around the world which help both animals and people. in 2020 we have chosen to support eight charities who offer services in locations, and to animals, close to our hearts.
Wigglin' Home Boxer Rescue - Northwest USA
“Wigglin’ Home Boxer Rescue is a non-profit, 100% volunteer, foster based, breed specific dog rescue with 180 volunteers, with foster homes in OR, WA, ID, and MT. Our motto is—the Right Dog, the Right Home, Loved Forever. All dogs are provided with the medical care and rehabilitation they may need. Once a dog is ready, we find a loving home that matches their needs.”
This year we have supported Wigglin’ Home by purchasing essential supplies for the dogs, including food, supplements, and medical shampoos, plus a monetary donation.
Allqo Llaqta Rescue Centre - Urubamba, Peru
Allqo Llaqta was founded in 2018 by a local vet desperate to help the many abandoned and stray dogs in the city of Urubamba. The charity’s goals are to establish a rescue and adoption shelter, provide medical treatment to injured or sick dogs, and to run sterilization campaigns to reduce the number of street dogs. The charity also aims to educate local residents about responsible pet ownership.
We are supporting Allqo Llaqta with a cash donation to help with the construction of facilities and purchase of medical equipment at the rescue centre.
Save a Horse - Oceania
“Save a Horse was established in 2001. Our purpose is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home horses to their forever homes.”
We are sponsoring a horse, Atlas, who is being cared for by the charity.
Atlas is a 10 year-old, 17hh thoroughbred mare who was destined to be slaughtered for pet food. Thankfully she was rescued in November 2019, albeit with a nasty hoof injury. Atlas is currently being treated and rehabilitated in preparation for adoption.
Potcake Place - Turks & Caicos Islands
Potcake Place is a rescue shelter for stray and abandoned ‘potcake’ (mixed breed) puppies on the island of Providenciales. The charity’s ambition is to reduce the number of homeless puppies. Volunteers rescue and foster the puppies while preparing them for adoption by socialising and training the pups.
We have made a donation which covers the costs of rescuing four puppies including a de-flea bath, worming, vaccinations and antibiotics.
Swaziland Animal Welfare Society - eSwatini
The mission of SAWS is to foster care through rehabilitation, education and protection to promote the prevention of animal cruelty and improve the quality of life of all animals in eSwatini.
We have made a donation towards the cost of running three spay clinics in three rural communities in 2020. Through these clinics, the charity plans to sterilize a total of at least 150 animals, and provide much needed veterinary treatments to at least a further 240 owned cats and dogs in need.
Street Vet - US nationwide
Street Vet is a registered veterinary practice and charity offering care for homeless people and their pets in major cities around the US. Volunteer vets and vet nurses offer check-ups and routine healthcare like worming, vaccination and microchipping as well as medical treatment for pets on the streets with their owners.
We have donated supplies requested by the local Street Vet teams in Cambridge and Peterborough, as both cities are within 15 miles of our head office.
Dharamsala Animal Rescue - Dharamsala, India
“Dharamsala Animal Rescue was founded to help the thousands of stray dogs on the streets of Dharamsala and protect the community from rabies. Your help gives dogs a better life and lowers the risk of rabies. Dharamsala Animal Rescue works to implement a humane prevention program called ABC (animal birth control, sterilization and vaccination) along with animal rescue and adoption programs. DAR also helps any kind of animal in need including cows, donkey, cats, or monkeys.”
We have supported DAR with a donation to help cover the costs of their annual vaccination programme, intending to reach 700-800 animals.
Ocean Cleanup Project - Worldwide
The non-profit was founded in 2013 by an 18 year-old passionate about removing plastics from the world’s oceans. Ocean Cleanup develops technology to remove plastic waste from the ocean and to stop the inflow of waste entering oceans from rivers. Their ultimate goal to reach a 90% reduction of floating ocean plastic by the year 2040.
We have made a donation to help fund the development of new technology in rivers.
